How to stich paitiyaala shalwaar.

I hope you will like it.
how to cut patiyala salwar.

step 1-
required cloth - for adults 3 to 3.5 meter
full length -hip round, bottom round .
in early days from punjab delhi side women used full fled salwar but now a days women also use less fled salwar . but now new generation young girls like full fled salwar as fashion just because of hindi movies.

cutting-

on double folded cloth draw or stress half bottom round then once again it is folded.take half of bottom, infront of bottom fold remaining cloth diagonally.
take lengh on side minus 7 inch for belt from length , draw full line up to upper portion.
for hip length  take 1/6 of hip round + 1 inch draw a line .
inside this line, draw two inch line and then draw shape for seat.
cull upper line
cut shape of seat also on side the diagonal line also if any salwar have side edges then remove that  edges by cutting.it .if it is kept as it is then that salwar gets lifted upward

stiching- join front part to both sides ,both parts together then stich one side .

divide belt on nefa into four parts and mark it  leave backside plane dont put any fleets at backsides.make all pleet on front side .
take two 2 inch fleets overlapping one on to other.
after taking these fleets i set all the fleets, these fleets stay as it is as always .
take both parts together of front side and stitch seat shape , all the fleets come on  front side  as shown in the figure .no fleets will be taken on backside ,upper side of the belt just turn the folded cloth and stitch .
attach paper canvas and cloth strip separately on the bottom and stitch .
by this process patiyala will be ready.if you want to stitch any salwar
then do it without fear, becouse it is very easy by reading this post.

  3. Dear Manraj noor.
Get approximately 3 meter of cotton or any of the light weight fabrics which will give the salwar a flowy look.Wash the fabric and dry it. You can also iron the fabric if necessary. And then fold the fabric in half the way long.Mark two 45inch lengths of the folded material.Cut the two 45 inch lengths and make surethere’s at least 6 inches left which will helpyou for the later use of ankle and waist bands.
Measure your hips and ankles.Transfer half the hip measurement to the top edge of the pants and addfive inches marking this spot with a pin or a tailor’s chalk.Transfer half the hip measurement to the bottom edge of the pants marking this spot with a pin or a tailor’s chalk.
Start measuring down along the open edge approximately 12 inches and this willbe the front flap closure and the back seam later on. mark this 12 inchwith pins or chalks.
Cut a diagonal line from the ankle measurement to the bottom of the front opening.Keep the four resulting triangles aside to use it later.Line up each selvedge edge with a diagonal cut line at the top end or crotch. With the right sides together, start sewing each triangular part to one side of the pantleg.Repeat the same thing for the 4 seams.
Sew the insides of the legs togetherAnd then turn the pieces right side out.Pin the two legs together along the crotch leaving the front open for a flap closure.Pleat the ankle openings so that it can fit your ankle. After which just pin the pleats into place and check for the fit.
Use a seam ripper to open the ankle seam up again.
Place the strip of cloth for your ankle cuff/tie strap around your ankle and hold the ends together. Hold them down to mark your ankle placement in the center ofthe strap.
Use pins or chalk for marking.Start stitching the ends of your ankle cuff/tie strap closed leaving the center area open for sewing to the bottom of the pant leg.Turn the ties right side out.
Then with the right sides together sew oneedge of the center of the cuff strap to the pleated bottom of your pant leg.Fold the remaining edge to the inside of the pant leg and hand sew it to the inside to complete your cuff.
Repeat the same thing for the other leg.
Pleat the waist opening to fit your waist. As the same way you completed the ankle cuffs add a waist band to the waist opening but here you would be using a larger opening and each end of the strap should be the length of your waist plus another 14-20 inches.Choose a zipper, buttons or snaps for the front flap closing. You are done making your own Patiala salwars.
